Seven inspirational women and their words of wisdom

Seven inspirational women and their words of wisdom

In celebration of International Women’s Day, we’re turning our attention to some of our female employees – strong, intelligent and empowered women who make each day a better day for our clients, colleagues and community. In the spirit of paying it forward, we’ve tapped seven inspirational women behind the brand of APSO to share their words of wisdom, important life lessons, and how they go about forging a gender-equal world.

The best advice I’ve ever received

“Take responsibility for your results”

The most important lesson I’ve learnt is

“Don’t hesitate to start small” – Buddha. This taught me to approach challenges ‘step by step’, and I live by this mantra, breaking challenges down into manageable pieces. I have also learnt that it is best to remain open-minded when resolving challenges.”

How do you go about forging a gender-equal world?

“I help build a gender-equal world by raising my voice and supporting women through daily life. I try to empower women by showing they deserve happiness and to make selfish decisions. Everyone is entitled to happiness.”

The best advice I’ve ever received

“Don’t ever stop learning and growing as a person.”

The most important lesson I’ve learnt is

“Have faith that your efforts will be rewarded. It is really a recipe for happiness and success in life.”

How do you go about forging a gender-equal world?

“Personally I don’t do anything specific. The reason why is because I already see myself as equal to my male peers. I speak on behalf of myself and the team that we believe our merits are based on the work that we do not our gender.”

The best advice I’ve ever received

“Treat others the way you want to be treated .”

The most important lesson I’ve learnt is

“Hard work pays off! Nothing is ever handed out, it takes hard work and dedication to get where you want to be.”

How do you go about forging a gender-equal world?

“To not discriminate or judge a book by its cover.”

The best advice I’ve ever received

“New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings” – Paulo Coelho

The most important lesson I’ve learnt is

“To remind your loved ones you appreciate and love them more often, and to surround yourself with people who help raise you up and give you a positive outlook on life.”

How do you go about forging a gender-equal world?

“I believe gender equality is something that has been changing around the world for a while now and it is great to see men and women supporting it. Coming into a workplace where it is mostly dominated by females is really refreshing, the women in this workplace are strong and inspiring.”

The best advice I’ve ever received

“If you want something you don’t have, you have to do something you’ve never done.”

The most important lesson I’ve learnt is

“True happiness comes from within yourself. It can’t be searched for or forced.”

How do you go about forging a gender-equal world?

“To simply treat everyone equally and based on their individuality rather than by their gender.”

The best advice I’ve ever received

“You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression.”

The most important lesson I’ve learnt is

“The word ‘listen’ contains the same letters as the word ‘silent’. Listen with the intent to understand, not the intent to reply.”

How do you go about forging a gender-equal world?

“By simply treating everyone with the same respect, regardless of their gender/race/background in life.”

The best advice I’ve ever received

“Don’t compare your low lights to someone else’s highlight reel. ”

The most important lesson I’ve learnt is

“Creating small daily habits are the building blocks that create long term change.”

How do you go about forging a gender-equal world?

“No matter who a person is, just put kindness into the universe and it comes back to you (just maybe not immediately!). Random acts of kindness, as well as empathy and listening instils a kind of powerful energy of its own that empowers.”
